My Last Blog :(
In my last blogging week when we had our meetings with the teacher, I had lots of revising to do. Well it really wasnt a lot, but if i wanted them to be way better then i had to lots of revising. I took time out of other things to revise my projects so that i have the best chance to pass. Since this is my last blog, i want to thank the teacher for pushing me and staying with me by not letting me fall behind and fail. So after this semester with this teacher, i am reading for next semester and i am telling myself not to fall behind again.

This week really went by too fast. It went by too fast because i almost forgot about my paper that i needed to do for English. The only way i remembered was because i thought about Tyler leaving, going back home, so that made me think about the paper. But anyway, i thought i did well on the paper and i am staying on top of my work in this class. I feel that i changed how i do things in this class and i am way happier/satisfied now.

There is a Whole World to Explore
I think that "There is a Whole World to Explore" is a good paper by Pamela Gardner. This paper was kind of long compared to the papers we been writing in class, but it is really an average paper length. I think this paper should get a 5.
The paper was very well written and put together very nice. It came together quite well. I thought it was going to be boring and hard to follow, but it really wasn’t. I usually would stop reading and start skimming through, but this paper kept me reading. It kept me interested and had me wanting to know more about the life in South America (Brazil and Argentina).
As I started to finish the first paragraph, I was really thinking if I was going to finish this paper. As I kept going, she pulled me in more talking about why she wanted to go to another country. She also was saying that it could be a life changing experience. When I heard those words I really keyed in to the paper. She was very specific and descriptive in this paper.
In the paper there were some spots that were not too clear. Maybe that she got too much into details that she lost focus of her main ideas, but it was still straight. I think that may have been her only negative. Well another negative she probably had was a few mechanical errors, but they weren’t really noticeable.
The paper was great overall, but the reason why I gave her a 5 is because it wasn’t superior. It was close, don’t get me wrong.

3 Projects Due Monday!!!
After a week with only having one day of English class, i feel that i really have a lot to accomplish. i have 3 projects to get done and very little time to get them done. it is really my fault for the rush, but i feel i can really pass this test coming toward me. this is a test to see if i say i am going to do something, will i do it. not a test to prove to myself, but to show other people that i am capable of doing more than they think i can. i kno people think that i wont get the 3 projects that i am behind in turned in, but thats because they dont kno wat i am capable of. this going to be a breeze and im not going to sweat doing it either. So those who believe i can do it, thank you. For the ones who think i can't, be ready to feel dumb on the inside and have the shocking look on the outside......

timed-writing
Friday in class we were to do a timed writing assignment about our community here at ball state. I was doing great on it until the fire alarm went off. We had a fire drill or something probably caught on fire, but we had to leave the building. I was doing my timed writing on blackboard and when the alarm went off i saved the draft, but little did i know its hard for you to get it back after you saved it on blackboard. Everybody else did theirs on Word. I guess i was the only one doing mine on blackboard, but when we came in i couldnt find none of my work that i submitted so it was like i did nothing. I learned a lesson here and that is to always start off my writing work on Word so i can save successfully!!

Its the middle of school and i seem to be going about OK. I tend to forget about certain things. Big Things!! One example is project 2 for English class. I don't know how something that big slipped my mind, but i have to make sure that never happens again. I can't keep my high school ways so i am trying my best to stay away from them. That was something i had on my mind but later bloggers...

Today i was in a group with Olivia and Joelle. We were supossed to be going over our project 2 research paper, but since i didn't have mine they did theirs and i commented on both. Olivia was telling us how she stopped performing then as she watched Air Jam, it made her want to perform again so i respect her for going back to doing what she probably does best. I also respect Joelle more because she wants to learn how to belly dance even though she hasa minor physicality problem that won't allow her to be on the exact page as everyone else. But since she wants it so bad, she is working at her own pace to achieve it. Well thats it for this blog, stay tuned for next week's blog...LoL

Today we met in the library for class. We were being taught how to look up stuff for research on our papers for future reference. The man gave us new ways on how to get to different links so we can have more options of research to choose from. We went to the "Articles and Database" section and was searching through that topic. I think it is a great way to research for a lot of things. I am certainly thinking about using it for my next writing assignment.

As we are moving along in class, we are reading Ishmael Beah. Reading this novel is making people think that they are surprised that he is still alive. He went through a lot of violent acts in his childhood and people may say he is lucky to be alive. In that case, people could say the same for me because i grew up in a lot of rough neighborhoods. Growing up i witnessed shootouts, drive-by shootings, and know people that committed suicide. My uncle got killed by the police and a lot of my family is locked up in jail or prison. Seeing this in my life since i was in elementary, makes me not want to trust people and has my awareness up at a maximum. I am now in college trying to make something of my self that they didn't and am going to.
The Art Museum
Going to the Art Museum with the class last Monday wasn't too bad. I thought it was going to be boring so i was already going in with a attitude ready to leave. My attitude begun to change when we started looking at the artwork and hearing the stories behind the paintings. The Painting of St. Lawrence was the one i liked the most. People was hold St. Lawrence over a fire burning the fat from his body. It was a really good painting that you have to see to understand it. By the end of the class i felt different about going and realized it helped me with a little history.

slacking in class
when you become a college student and you want to graduate on time, dont slack!! when you slack, you begin to fall behind on your work and it becomes hard to catch up with the crowd and be back on track. one of the reason is because you are always doing something new in class everyday so there is no time to do your work in the class. another reason is that you have other classes with homework that you have to do and you might not have enough time to squeeze in the work that you are trying to catch up on. while you are trying to do that, you cause more time to pass by that you could have been working on it or your other work, but you couldnt because you were busy worried about when and what time you was going to do it. that is when you start procrastinating, then you fall even more behind so i advise you to try to never fall behind in your school work if you want to be headache free and successful.
a new event
i am going to be going to the field hockey game on Tuesday Sept. 22 because it is something i never gone to before. i am assuming that it is going to be boring and make me leave, but i am giving it the benefit of the doubt and going anyway. i don't know the rules or anything to this sport, but i am going to experience another sport. i am also doing this for our assignment in class. this is going to be the event that i go to because i can't really imagine myself going to one of these games for fun.

Memorial Weekend
The Friday of memorial weekend i was on mi way to Michigan where i went to high school. I was going to visited my mother and some friends. When i got there, i went home to see my mother, then i went to the school that i graduated from to see some of my friends because they had a game and was about to leave. Me and four other friends followed the bus to watch the hard faught game that they loss by four points. One of my closest friends almost got the winning touchdown, but got tackled at the two yard line after breaking about five tackles for twenty-two yards. After the game, we went to the party ten minutes from where i lived, but left early because it wasn't many females there. Saturday we chilled all day reminiscing about what we used to do before i left. I left Sunday to come back to Muncie and got s speeding ticket go 88 mph. After that i was just happy when i got home because that was probably the longest Sunday i ever had.

Moving into college, leaving home was a Big Jump. My graduating class was only 48 and I'm going to a college with 20,000 people, dramatic change. Leaving high school, I would say that pre-calculus helped prepare me the most for college. My teacher gave us the work just like the professor did, but my high school math teacher teaches better. One Big Change is that I am going to have to teach myself how to do the math. Moving on through the year, I hope all my other teachers are not like that. If so, then college is going to be a Larger Jump then I thought.
